WHAT’S NEW? Fall Is In The Air

Fall is here – I can feel it in the air. Time to look at the year, see what worked and what did not. Time to let go of resentments and frustrations and look towards creating something new and fresh for the new year.

Taking time during December is one of my favorite activities – I love dreaming about what I want for the future. Once I am clear, I have a ceremony on New Year’s day to manifest that dream.  It’s been a long-standing tradition, one that I love and has always served me well. What about YOU??

Blessings & love, Sheri

Forgiveness & Justice vs. Anger & Revenge

On November 16, 1998 there was a terrible car crash that took place in St Petersburg, FL where I lived at the time. A beautiful woman and her adopted daughter were hit by another vehicle as she moved through an intersection.

The police decided that the accident was her fault rather than the other car driven by a young man.

The husband, Bruce Murakami, was not satisfied with that conclusion and felt that justice was not being served. He left his business to pursue a three year investigation into the accident. Through his research he was able to find out that the young man did indeed cause the accident because he was drag racing down the street at almost 90 miles per hour. Finally justice would be done!

When the case came to court he insisted on meeting and speaking privately to ask the young man if he felt remorse for his actions. Before the young man could speak up, Bruce told him that he had forgiven him. The young fellow broke down crying, admitting his shame in his actions. At that point Bruce felt that Justin Cabezas, the young man, would be better served doing community service rather than sending him to jail for 30 years for double vehicular homicide.

Bruce created an incredible non-profit organization for the purpose of teaching young people the dangers of unsafe driving practices. Today as a result of that decision both he and Justin lecture to young folks about the possible results of one poor choice. The key was his ability to forgive, which he learned from his practice of Christianity. Bruce realized that there was no reason to carry all that anger around within him or make himself a victim of the accident too.

As a result of his forgiveness, these two men are out there changing lives everyday, preventing others from suffering the same fate as his wife and child. So ask yourself, what anger are you holding on to? There’s a HUGE difference between justice being served and revenge. One can create a beautiful dream and the other creates lasting hate. What choice would you make?

With all my love! Sheri
