How Can Horses Teach us More About Ourselves and Our Truth?
In recent years more and more people are becoming aware of and starting to work with horses in areas such as relationship, communication, leadership, responsibility, empathy and awareness, along with spiritual growth and expansion. But why work with horses, what is so unique and special about them?
Horses are truly mirrors to our internal world, and to our true selves! Here are some examples:
Improve Your Communication and Honesty – Only 7% of what we say verbally is actually communicated, the remaining 93% of our communication is conveyed by tone of voice and body language. Because horses are prey animals with what are called “mirror neurons”, they communicate and empathize with us by responding to our deepest, truest and often most subtle belief systems. They offer us the unique and profound opportunity to gain clarity about the ways we are moving through the world. Their innate wisdom and gift is in being able to read and reflect back how our energy, body language, and non-verbal forms of communication affect all of those around us.
Deepen Your Relationships and Create Connection – Are you open, connected and communicating fully in all your relationships? Opening to the horse as an innate spiritual teacher, you are guided to relax, release, become fully present and connect to your own deepest essence and intuition. From this space you can create true and profound connections with others and manifest the positive changes you want in life.
Respect and Honor Your Emotions – Learn to hold your space and create positive, empowered boundaries without closing down to the world around you, even in the midst of chaos. Through the non-judgmental guidance of the horse, you open to your emotional intelligence honoring your feelings without judgment. Explore and reveal your supportive emotions (joy, happiness, empathy) as well as their shadows (fear, anger, worry, defensiveness). Learn to honor them, feel them fully and consciously, receiving what they have to offer, and then release them.
