EVENTS, JOURNEYS + WEBINARS!

Communicating with Animals – Following in the Footsteps of St. Francis
Assisi, Italy
May 17th – 23rd, 2015

assisi spiritual-journeyWe invite you to join us in Assisi, Italy the sacred home of St. Francis the patron saint of animals. To explore his world and work with him in the land where he found his calling. Visiting sacred sites in the area of Assisi where St. Francis himself used to abide will afford us the opportunity for deep reflection & spiritual growth.

St. Francis realized animals have so much to teach us – if we would only listen like he did! Renowned global teacher & Hay House author Pea Horsley will join us for two days during this retreat to deliver an introduction workshop on animal communication. Even if you don’t have any pets or animals in your life, don’t worry – the techniques offered can also help improve relationships with our fellow human beings as it’s all based around developing our intuition!

Following in the footsteps of St. Francis & St. Clare we offer you the chance to journey to the place where St. Francis first heard the voice of God instructing him to restore a church. We’ll also visit St. Francis’ tomb at the basilica & share our intentions with the great saint for our week together in Assisi, and so much more!

Trip tuition: GBP £1580 (approx EUR €1985/USD $2710) per person double occupancy.

OUR FEATURED ARTICLE

Feeling the Divinity in Nature Like St Francis!

“We have been called to heal wounds,
to unite what has fallen apart,
and to bring home those who have lost their way.”
~ St Francis of Assisi

St Francis of Assisi had a kind of transcendentalist view. He saw divinity in nature. In case you are not familiar, St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of Italy and the founder of the Franciscan Brotherhood. But in his day, he was a simple friar, not even a fully ordained priest, who made waves around his hometown of Assisi because he preached to ordinary people. At that time, this simply wasn’t done.

Spiritual Retreat ItalyHis dedication to a life of poverty and his affinity for all living creatures earned him a following so great that he was canonized just two years after his death. This amazing man left his mark, not just within the Catholic community, but the town of his birth as well.

Assisi is located in the Umbria region of Italy and is home to exquisite Renaissance churches, castles, murals, and works of art. A place of pilgrimage, Assisi has an aura of peace and tranquility in this rapidly changing world.

Perhaps the most famous of its many chapels is the Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi. Begun after his death in 1226, this Basilica now houses St. Francis’ Franciscan monks, two chapels, and the saints remains.

Spiritual journey AssisiThe town is full of the gentle saint’s presence. From the church he was baptized in, to places he preached and lived, his open and accepting nature still fills the town. It’s palpable and people often describe feeling closely connected with St. Francis while visiting.

St. Francis was born to a rich merchant and lived a fully decadent and materialistic life while growing up. As a young man he went to war and it was during this period that he felt his calling to return to Assisi and preach.

He took a pilgrimage to Rome and joined with beggars to ask for alms. It was at this time that he took his vow of poverty. He took this vow so seriously that his order of monks were often referred to as “lesser monks,” in their efforts to fully imitate the life of Christ and live with no possessions.

In addition, he is well known for preaching to animals and for viewing all of creation, two legged and otherwise, as capable of honoring and praising God.

assisi1Perhaps it is for this reason that his legacy continues to this day. He was not concerned with dogma so much as open-hearted living. He reached out to people in all walks of life and his genuine and sincere desire to help others live fully still permeate the town.

Join us this spring for a pilgrimage to Assisi to experience for yourself St. Francis’ message and his life’s work – it’s a powerful and moving place that won’t fail to touch you deeply!

Blessings & love, Lisa Tully

About Lisa!

Following the calls of my heart one day I did the unthinkable. I quit my corporate career despite having two mortgages to pay. Then one day after a hypnosis session I heard a deep calling in my heart to go see the Dalai Lama in India.

lisa tully Assisi, ItalyWith two mortgages to pay, living off credit cards (my savings were non-existent), no job to speak of & a desire to get traveling once again I booked a ticket to go see him. And things have never been the same since.

On my spiritual path I love to draw from a wealth of traditions & great masters including Buddhism, Sufism, Hinduism, Christianity & Celtic spirituality to name but a few. All under the close guidance of my beloved teacher Hema Vyas who I have been working closely with for over eight years now.

It was actually on retreat with Hema that I first discovered the power of Assisi. We happened upon St. Francis’ tomb in the basilica where both Hema & myself were instantly transfixed in his energy. In other words he suddenly happened upon us! And this was when the seeds for this Assisi retreat were planted & now they are ready to blossom.

To take you there to experience this sacred place would be a dream come true. I deeply believe you will come back a changed person.
