Biblical Concepts – What do You Believe?
Growing up Jewish, I certainly had my share of religious domestication. Of course the Old Testament was important to my family. But I always find it interesting how people can take a book written so long a go when the world was such a different place and demand that every word be taken as 100% truth. It’s such a pity since it takes away from the wonderful uplifting messages that are still so applicable and powerful today (and this applies to every religious text written thousands of years ago).
I think these questions, funny as they are – clearly illustrate how “the word of God” as written down by man – needs to be taken with a grain of salt (so to speak) or we would all have to be put to death! They act as a reminder that there is no absolute truth in the realm of human concepts – only in Infinite Consciousness which has no points of view, opinions, perspectives, judgments or belief systems. - Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians?
- I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
- I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness – Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
- When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for for you Lord – Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
- I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
- A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination – Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. Can you settle this? Are there ‘degrees’ of abomination?
- Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
- Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
- I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
- My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn’t we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
- Homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. So do we separate them all and if so how?

Hi Sheri, You are spot on! As a professional astrologer and possibilities coach I hear a lot about fear and misconceptions of 2012 (and life in general, lol). It is funny how we take on the messages from the media and others as truth. In 2008, astrologically the world began the descent of our old ways dieing off, planetary configurations triggered a major shift/transformation and culminated the end of July 2010. We are now on the upswing!
With that being said, when death and rebirth happens fear sets in, for most. As humans we “want” our lives to always be flowing in comfort. If we always lived in ease & comfort we would never have the opportunity to grow and attain deeper awareness of who we truly are. 2010 the seeds were planted but have not popped from the ground yet. It is imperative to be aware of the seeds we have sown or plant new seeds and nurture them. This is our choice.
Between 2012 and 2014 we will begin to see what we (world community as a whole) have planted. This is not just a transformational time for the sake of change, there is a huge Spiritual awakening in the works. Living in the present and focusing on what we are creating as an individual will change the world with love. Focusing on the world and trying to change it for us to feel safe is an act of futility. Individually we are powerful energetic beings.
When we join others with the same perception, be it love or fear, we create massive powerful outcomes. This has been proven scientifically (not that we need documented proof but it does help for understanding). Ok now my juices are flowing and I could write a book if I continue so I will stop. lol Thank you so much for who you are and what you bring to the world. You are an inspiration with your amazing and loving energy!

I stopped and listened to your video. I’m looking for a transcendent life of love and peace. I’m trying to change my frame of life. I’m tired of feeling hurt and alone when I know there is a better life out there.
My question is how, in this world of “I don’t care attitudes” does one turn the other cheek and feel, show and give the love “I used to feel” before I started to feel the resentment and bitterness in my heart? I’ve started to slip into depression and anxiety. I’ve had two panic attacks and other than work, I have to have a reason to get myself out of the house.I had to get my ex out for the umpteenth time. And my best friend has even stopped calling me. Even if I call her first. My thinks I’m nuts with all the time I spend online. This may not seem like a legitimate question like the one you answered in you video, but it in on my soul of hearts. I just want to feel again, happiness, that is!

You’ve got yourself in a real funk right now don’t you? And every funk has it’s basis in funk-filled thinking! 🙂
When we feel depressed and anxious, it is because we are entertaining thoughts that require that emotional response.
In the end it is not about what others think or do in the world, but about how we show up regardless of the hell around us.
So then rather than spending a lot of time on the internet – what about getting out and coming on a trip or doing a personal intensive – doing something to get a new perspective and help? The way that you are currently thinking got you into this position and it is not likely to get you out of it. The truth is every problem can be solved – but not at the level of consciousness that created it.
So what positive action can you take to change YOU?

Another great video….I loved it! To me, 2012 is no different than the experiences many people went through when the year 2000 was about to occur. Remember that? Predicted doom and gloom! Anticipated worldwide computer meltdowns! People stockpiling provisions and bunkering down! And, of course, it was a non-event. The same thing will happen this time. For me, I will continue on my path of self-improvement….using the tips that you shared on the video and other efforts. I will engage others from the perspective of love, not fear. Thanks again, Sheri, for sharing your wisdom!

I always enjoy when you post – yes I remember all the hype for 2000 too. I believe that our experience is what we make it and if all of us choose to make it great then that is what it will be. If people put out fear – then that is what we will have to contend with. Hopefully one day folks will realize they are not victims – they are projecting out a conjoined reality that we are all responsible for. Well it would be nice if that happened in my lifetime – but perhaps it will happen the next time I reappear!
