Glastonbury has long been acknowledged as the location of the mystical land of Avalon and the burial site of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere; a place beyond the veil of human sight and one only those who have reached deep inside their soul can see. Ladies, if you’ve ever felt a connection with Camelot, Tintagel, the healing waters of the Chalice Well, or felt called to walk with the ancients at Stonehenge, this journey will speak to you.

Dive Into the Ancient Magic + Mysteries of Turkey
August 17th–26th, 2015
Turkey possesses one of the most diverse and beautiful landscapes of Middle East/Asia with a multitude of cultural influences criss-crossing the country creating a truly unusual and rich history. On this spiritual journey with Rev David Ault, we’ll explore the incredible architecture – from the Byzantine Haghia Sofia (Church of the Divine Wisdom), to the phantasmagoric rock formations of Capadoccia. And we’ll experience the powerful spiritual traditions from the Whirling Dervishes and the Sufis in Konya, to the Goddess site of Artemis at Ephesus.
We’ll reconnect with the Mother Goddess worshiped from around 9000 BC to 2000 BC and explore early Christian Mysticism in the steps of St. Paul and St. John. From there we’ll deepen our understanding of the Sufi tradition and the mystical heritage of the Whirling Dervishes. Watching these dancers enter spiritual bliss is an amazing experience.

ARE YOU A VICTIM OF LOVE?!
I’m concerned. And you should be too. You are receiving not-so-subtle messages in your popular music that are encouraging you to stay a victim in your life. The music is so engaging that you don’t recognize what is happening unless you have the awareness to actually hear what you are singing along to.
I was driving in the car with a girlfriend and we had the radio on. She started singing along to Lady Antibellum’s hit from a couple of years ago – “Need You Now.” As I was listening I could not believe anyone would want to sing those lyrics or even admit that they could relate to the storyline of the song. The song reinforces many of the lies we have been taught about love and I feel it is important to shine the light of truth upon them.
In case you are not familiar, these are two of the choruses of the song:
It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need you now
Said I wouldn’t call but I lost all control and I need you now
And I don’t know how I can do without

Guess I’d rather hurt than feel nothin’ at all
So let’s talk about the beliefs this song is supporting!
First of all you are never alone. If indeed you choose to believe in the oneness of life and all consciousness – then you would never use that language to describe your condition since it is not truth.
Love is not neediness. The truth is you need no one, but as social animals we enjoy the company of others. Feelings of neediness surface when you take the position of the ego-mind which feels separate and alone and “needs” another to feel complete – like you a half running around looking for your other half. In the end, there is no one in the world who can rescue you from your neediness except your own self love.
You are not at the mercy of your body or your mind. That is utter nonsense – the idea of not being in control of your body or mind only means that you feel victimized by the gifts (your body & your mind) that Spirit gave you to navigate this reality with. If in any moment you have the desire to have sex you would not run out and sleep with someone – would you? If your mind makes a proposal you do not have to be compelled to follow through on it – right? To say that you’ve lost control is not truth. What you are actually saying is that you chose to fall asleep, lose all your awareness, and forget that you are the life force that is in control of your body and your mind.
There is no justification for not taking responsibility for your life that I am going to believe. I don’t care how much whiskey a person consumes – that does not abdicate us from our responsibility to be conscious of what we are creating in life.
If you are hurting it is because you are choosing to take your situation personally. When you do that you are using life’s circumstances to hurt yourself. If you want to do that rather than being happy – of course that is up to you.
If you are ending a relationship it is because it is not working for one or both parties. In that case you are free to have the opportunity to meet someone else who really wants to be with you. Who in their right mind wants to stay in a relationship with someone who does not want to be with us – regardless of how much we may have loved them? Where is our self-respect?
There are 7 billion people in the world – if you can’t find someone in that crowd to date, and you need to beg to stay with someone who does not want to be with you, that is heartbreaking and needs to change. When you truly love someone you let them go because you want them to be happy – even if you are grieving the end of that relationship. True love is unselfish.
I’m aware that some of what I am sharing may be difficult to swallow. We often chose non-awareness so that we can avoid taking responsibility for our life. In fact, responsibility has a bad rap in general in our society. However – I have changed my beliefs to reflect my joy in recognizing that I am Spirit embodied – and I have the power to create what I want in my life. And because of that I do not want to sing a song about being a victim when I have worked so hard to be a creator. I hope you feel the same way too! 🙂
