Dear Friends,
WHAT’S NEW? Did you miss this weeks teleclass? Oh no!
On Tuesday night Deborah Skye King (our facilitator for our upcoming Women’s Bali Retreat – see below), chatted with me on: Allowing Abundance for the Heart-centered Entrepreneur! We had quite a bit of fun and if you missed the call it’s worth listening to. We discussed:
- How to identify the hidden beliefs that may be hindering your income
- How to determine if your business is positioned for abundance
- What steps you can take to start treating what you do as a real business
I recorded the call so feel free to listen even if you could not make it! To listen to Allowing Abundance for the Heart-Centered Entrepreneur on your computer click here!

Want to start the New Year clear and ready to go?
Here’s the solution!
Are you ready to break out of the box you call reality? If so – join me (Sheri) for a Personal Intensive. It’s a powerful experience and is a great way to jump-start your New Year! In my experience, the root of most people’s issues is a belief system that is sabotaging their life – rather than supporting it.
Imagine what life could be like if you were calm and centered no matter what situation you faced in life, rather than emotional and unclear. What if you no longer took people’s actions personally? Or if forgiveness came easy to you? Or even if you never got in another argument for the rest of your life?! Believe me – it’s possible.
You’ll learn to…
- Take positive action in life – regardless of anxiety or fear.
- No longer feel victimized by the people in your life.
- Deal with people openly, without taking their actions and words to heart.
- Let go of the burdens of the past, forgive and move on with gratitude and joy.
- Reclaim your self-esteem and greater life purpose.
- Replace anger with focused clarity.
- No longer fear confrontation, or be a doormat for others.
- Come to a place of self-acceptance, no matter what actions you took in the past.
- Clearly identify your limiting beliefs, their origin and true purpose – empowering you to make healthier life choices.
- Utilize specific tools to help you live courageously, boldly, and with your head held high.
This is the bottom line – and please read this carefully: You can do one hour sessions once a month for a year (like in therapy), OR you could invest ~12 hours over 3 days and have the time to deeply work through what you need to without the clock interrupting you. That is extremely significant. Who wants to take a year to resolve something that can be dealt with in one weekend? Hopefully not you!
If you’re interested – please let me know immediately – dates for January & February’s 3-day sessions will fill quickly. Want more information? Details for Personal Intensives here!
OUR GUEST ARTICLE
Have You Ever Considered a Silent Retreat?
Many of us spend the majority of our days filing them to the brim. Multi-tasking as we jump from one social role to the next. The mere thought of simply sitting for a period of time seems like the hardest thing to do and most likely – the notion of it never enters our heads.
So if I were to mention the concept of a 10-day silent retreat? You may say things such as not for me or I could never last that long without talking!
The interesting thing is when I bring groups to the 10-day Buddhist meditation retreat in Dharamsala, India – even though they’ve signed up weeks in advance, they’re still voicing the same concerns on the day of check in.
As I listen, I know at the end of it all the majority of them will be left wanting more. For this type of work leads us to the truth of who we are: spiritual beings having an earthly experience. Over the course of the ten days a deeper part of them starts to remember that.
The journey of this kind of retreat is one of peaks and troughs. I would say the first peak is when my groups arrive and see the beauty of the center itself. Nestled in the Himalayan foothills it seems like a faraway Eastern fantasy come true.
The first major trough would then usually hit about two to three days in. At this point the ego can really put up a fight. The thoughts of still another week to go are rising up like a tide of dis-ease. What’s happening is the veils are being lifted and truths revealed. If we run around neglecting the health of our mind’s – rest assured we’ll be reacting to life from our ego’s instead of living from our hearts. It’s a bit like not bothering to weed your garden, eventually the weeds overrun the flowers.
You may be thinking that would definitely be the time I throw in the towel! Yet, I’ve never had any of my peaceful warriors leave a retreat early.
The group holds one another. You’re there with at least 60 others from all over the world and even though you are in silence for the most part, discussion groups are happening each day where you can speak.
This is the part where folks realize they are not alone in their internal struggles. Usually others have already moved past this point and their visible contentment and words of encouragement spur you on.
Being in silence is an ancient sacred blessing that has been quashed by modern life. For example, it allows us to fully taste our food. To appreciate the madness of the local monkeys as they play with one another. To smell the flowers. But most importantly it will allow you to see the waves of thoughts that are in control of your mind.
For they are indeed two very separate entities, mind and thought. Mix this new-found awareness with the Buddhist methods you are exposed to in the retreat teachings, and the journey of surfing those waves begins. This is the real journey of the retreat, the one of learning how to master your own mind.
The experience of living with over 60 people in silence is a very bonding one. In your own little silent world you’ll naturally have judgements about what everyone is like. Then at the end of the 10 days when people start talking you uncover how wrong most of your assumptions were.
That in itself is a sacred life lesson. For if our mind were freed of needless judgements, good, bad or indifferent how much more mental freedom would we have to create what we really want?
The magic is in the unfolding. You must begin and then follow this journey right through to the end. Dance with your unfounded fears till they become old friends who spur you on for the next challenge ahead. And in doing so awaken the inherent nature in you that equals that of the Buddha himself.
Blessings & love, Lisa Tully
Feeling miffed at corporate life and all its samsara trappings – Lisa handed in her notice. Money was tight, people were pessimistic, but her heart was smiling. For she had a deep calling to go to India and the money for a ticket fast burning a hole in her pocket.
On returning back to Europe from this incredible trip she found it difficult to settle back into the spiritual poverty of the west – for so much had changed inside her. So after witnessing the stress and anguish of her Western brothers and sisters with new eyes she decided more people need to experience what she experienced. As a result she found her passion and has committed herself to running journeys to Dharamsala, India and has been blessed ever since.
**Join Lisa in Dharamsala Feb 23-Mar 10th, 2013 for her upcoming trip! ♥
