We are motivated by many things in life; desire, anger, vengeance, monetary gain and fear. But truly, if we are to create beautiful lives for ourselves, we must look towards the highest source of motivation there is – and that is unconditional love. When we are motivated by love, everything is easy; life unfolds as it is meant to unfold – as we are not in conflict with life. Of course when I say love – I do not mean the fear of not having love, neediness masking itself as love, or any other corruption or distortion of true unconditional love.

When we are motivated by fear-based feelings and beliefs we can create many things, but they will never have the same sweet taste as those things we create from love. I encourage you to review all the major creations and decisions you have made in your life to date. What have been your motivating factors? If possible make a list and place the reason for your actions next to each creation and/or decision. What is the percentage of fear-based to love-based creations and choices? If you are like me – this exercise will prove to you that you are mostly motivated by things that will never bring you happiness.

Henry Drummond, a nineteenth century Christian missionary said; “You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love.” There is no doubt in my mind that he was speaking the truth. What is done in love can only bring peace, joy and more love. I challenge you, until we meet again, to ask yourself “what is my motivation for the action I am about to take.” If you can answer love, great. But if not, perhaps you can take another action!

So based on the above – what motivates you?? Did you get any insights from this video? Post below and let us know!
